Pocket groove milling

The pocket groove milling is a continual cutting process for the production of grooves on the inner gear of the sliding collar.

Workpiece and tool axes are arranged in parallel. The two spindles rotate very exactly and torsion-proof in a fixed transmission ratio with a higher speed.

Through the rotation of the workpiece and the tool, the edge of the tool describes the cycloid which is approximated to the radius given in the workpiece drawing for the groove.
